Founded in 1974 by Bernard and Dani Lyn, the company began as a manufacturer of corporate writing instruments before evolving into a specialist in high-end, handcrafted fountain pens. Today, Danitrio is celebrated for producing some of the finest urushi lacquer and maki-e pens in the world.

Although headquartered in the United States, Danitrio collaborates with highly skilled Japanese artisans who handcraft each piece using centuries-old techniques.
